I grew up at this daycare and have also had the chance to come back and volunteer over the years. Shala makes her daycare such a warm, welcoming place, and you can tell how genuinely loved and cared for every child is.

She really is a grandma to everyone who comes through her doors, and any family would be so lucky to have her caring for their little one! Truly the best and I'd go back myself if I could!

My youngest daughter attended Stars Daycare and from time to time, my older daughter did as well. The love and care, safety, and education in the form of play provided to both our children was outstanding! My girls are adults now but they still have a special place in their hearts for Shala and her family.

If you're looking for a daycare that provides a home away from home for your children, Stars Daycare is it. The ladies love our children and care for them just like family. It's not unusual for our oldest daughter to ask to go to "Shala's" on weekends! Shala (the owner) is kind, loving, flexible and responsive to our family's changing needs. We love her :)

Stars Childcare has provided specialized care for both Kieran and Alea, who are 8 and 2 years of age, since they have been very young. Shala Monfred and her team have provided excellent love, care, attention and education to both of our children. As newcomers to British Columbia 7 years ago, finding the right daycare with a clean, loving and healthy environment which would provide early childhood education for Kieran was our key concern. We were very fortunate to find such a good quality daycare, which has become a part of our extended family.

Shala is amazing, she brings (over?) 30 years of childcare experience to the table, many of the kids she raised already have kids of their own.

Shala raises kids as if they were her own, I personally was raised in this daycare (from 6 months to 8+ years old), and made lifetime friendships. If you're looking for a safe, comfortable, home-style daycare experience where your kids will come out of it better people, I'd recommend Shala without a shadow of a doubt.

We were referred to Shala by friends in the neighbourhood whom we trusted, and after looking at several daycares that just didn't feel quite right, we knew almost immediately after meeting Shala that we had found the right place for our boys.

Our daughter started at Stars Childcare when she was 12 months old and she is now 4. Shala and her staff have given my husband and I such peace of mind in our working lives, with busy schedules Shala goes that extra mile to accommodate every eventuality.

Our daughter is growing up with great values and manners. Shala has provided a very secure and nurturing environment for her and she is loved as if she was her own. Our daughter has super little friends, some of whom have siblings attending too.

Our daughter practices her letters and numbers every day and comes home with her practice sheets and drawings. As Shala is fluent in Spanish she encourages the children to learn Spanish words and phrases. My husband and I looked at many daycares before our daughter was born. Stars was recommended to us by a friend whose three boys had attended. After meeting Shala and taking a tour of her facility I was instantly impressed by her honest and open manner. The daycare is spotless and clean and tidy, and the back yard is set up for the children to play in when the West Coast weather co-operates.

My husband and I highly recommend Stars Childcare to anyone that is looking for a safe and loving environment to leave their child. I look upon Shala as the family we do not have in Canada. We both take comfort in Shala as she is reliable, super organized and our daughter is well looked after.

Shala and her team are the absolute best. Our boys still talk about Shala years later. She treats the kids like her own family. She tells them she loves them every day. They learn how to be good people and are so well taken care of. I can't recommend this daycare more. I am a nurse and trusted them wholeheartedly as I returned to work. You would be lucky to get in with them.

We were lucky enough to get a spot at Stars Daycare. It truly became our second home. My son was surrounded by children aged 1.5 to 5 years, and I can see how this helped shape him into a caring child who enjoys playing with younger kids - something that can be difficult to teach as children grow older.
